John is a recognized thought leader known for formulating innovative strategies and plans vital to ensuring business and organizational success, John offers a diverse blend of executive business acumen, multi-dimensional team building, and real-world solutions credited with strong, tangible, measurable results.
Over the past 30 years, John has worked with a diverse mix of business enterprises of various sizes including Fortune 500 and small-to-medium size companies. His engagement scopes with these companies have included combinations of business strategy, business development and marketing, operational improvement, venture capital planning, and IT systems development.
John has proven his uncanny ability to quickly surmise the pain points for an enterprise and synthesize the requisite strategies and implementation plans to accomplish client goals and objectives while maximizing business results. During his tenure as Chief Strategy Officer for numerous ventures, both for profit and non-profit, John served as the catalyst in transforming the cultures into agile, collaborative and result-based teaming environments.
As Chief Strategy Officer for the Alexander Group of Companies, John has led strategic engagements with small-to-medium size companies across a broad range of disciplines. Many of these efforts included hybrid business relationships with his clients where John took on not only a consulting leadership role but temporary operational roles within his client’s organizations. These “hybrid” roles have included positions as Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Vice President Business Development, and Chief Information Officer. John’s clients represent a sundry of industries including securities, real estate, medical, training, retail, manufacturing, and information technology.
In 2001, John began working closely with youth organizations including public schools (grammar through high school), Boy Scout groups, church organizations, various youth sports groups, university student groups, and young adult entrepreneurial teams. The period of time since 2001 has seen John serve as organization president, board member, webmaster, visionary, executive director, and most importantly, mentor.
One of John’s life missions is to work with youth organizations that provide a positive environment where youths thrive mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally while empowering them to build the requisite character, fortitude and moral compass needed to be drivers and examples of affirming and constructive change in their communities. John has focused his last decade and a half on this mission.
John is a firm believer in the power of teams and applies four teaming tenets that he established throughout the work that he does with youth. It is the experience and sense of mission gained through serving as a mentor that inspired him to found "The Rainmaker Effect". Rainmaker's mission "empowering and equipping youth and young adults with the skills, knowledge and tools to become servant leaders in their communities” is one of John's life passions.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine where he met his wife Mindy.
John and Mindy have been married for more than 25 years and have two adult age children.
John also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Rainmaker Effect, Inc.
Message from John: Fortune has rained on my life dozens of extraordinary mentors. In the beginning there was my father and mother. As I moved from childhood on through to adulthood, mentors from all walks of life helped me find balance, wisdom and understanding. There is a common thread weaving my web of mentors together –the thread of balance that comes from understanding the value of working with others to accomplish a greater good.
These special men and women taught me a powerful life lesson; true success comes from enabling and empowering others to succeed. I have experienced this lesson through my mentors for close to 50 years.
The Rainmaker Effect is a non-profit entity was founded on this common thread with the stated purpose of “empowering and equipping youth and young adults with the skills, knowledge and tools to become servant leaders in their communities”.
With this purpose, we intend to build an ever-expanding network of mentors and equip them with the skills, tools and resources to make a positive impact on the communities around them. We will accomplish our purpose with a focus on inspiring and equipping mentors to become part of a growing ecosystem where they can freely share their wisdom with mentees.
Finally, we intend to continuously “complete the circle” where mentees involved with a nurturing mentor are inspired and empowered to become mentors themselves. This is the multiplying of the “Rainmaker Effect".
